Local members of The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity met Thursday evening, January 3 at the Paseo Y.M.C.A. to discuss plans for the establishment of a local chapter of the fraternity here.
At this meeting, a tentative organization was effected with the following officers: Dean J. Ernest Brown of Western Bible College (KCMO) - President. Forest Smith, Executive Secretary of the Y.M.C.A. - Secretary. Wendell Pryor, teacher at the Boys' Home - Treasurer. Raymond M. Williams - Chairman of the Investigation Committee. Dr. A. Marcelle Kennedy - Chairman of the Program Committee.
The following were additional local Sigma Men who were identified by the fraternity: R. P. Young, S. D. Swancy, U. S. Arnold, Lloyd Williams, Wilburn Johnson, Dr. A. C. Prewitt.
The next meeting was held at the Paseo Y.M.C.A. Tuesday, January 8 at 9:30 p.m. All Sigma Men were invited to attend.

On Tuesday, October 29th, 1935, The Alpha Delta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated was established. That same evening, 3 men were initiated:
